My first time entering this contest, and my soul left my body when I found out I was assigned to political satire lol. I didn't even know that was one of the available options, but I tried my best and actually had tons of fun with it!!

143 - Political Satire / Moonlighting / A master of ceremonies

"Man Overboard"
A girl pursuing a marine legend discovers more than she bargained for.

BLESS YOU <3 I was so afraid I'd get this genre. I love that you had fun with it after you got your soul back ;) I'm looking forward to reading it!

Haha me too! Now I have even more PolSat ideas! I won't jinx myself by saying I hope I get it again, but I wouldn't be nearly as horrified if I did! What was your group, and what did you come up with? Unfortunately, if you've already shared, I lost your response in the thread!

I've been semi-obsessed with learning about PolSat on the chance that I might get it at some point. I hope that if I figure it out I won't be as scared. lololol

Here's my info:

Group: 87 | Genre: Science Fiction | Subject: Impregnable | Character: A lawman

My characters are anthropomorphic racoons.

Please Add Coffee

As the Shield protecting the Colony from the Outersphere threatens collapse, Officer D must balance duty with her affection for the citizens of the Far Back. She also really wants a mug of coffee.

I love that! Sci Fi seems like a tricky genre--I'm excited to read your story!

Wow, the enormity of creativity posted here is both encouraging and overwhelming! It also reminds me of just how much work the judges have in front of them. Kudos to every single person who rose to the challenge and took a risk!

I haven't found any group mates on this thread yet, but if you're there... lurking in the shadows... seeking out anyone from group 183!

Prompts:
Sci-Fi / Globetrotting / Craftsman

CONSTRUCTS IN TIME

In a world where technology gives an illusion of security and predictability, Liam Starkman is faced with the challenge of reclaiming what Time has stolen. The question is what he’ll allow it to take.

Admittedly, my writing portfolio has been fairly limited, having come from a journalism background and in the last 10 years essentially focusing any creative energies into coming up with bedtime stories for my three tiny humans. Felt good to create something entirely new, even though I've never written anything in this genre.
PS
If you couldn't tell from my post, brevity is not my forte!! My story ended at 2,497 words... but I could have at least tripled that.

Newbie here and Gosh! these prompts all made my teeth itch.
I got Group 38; political satire; a morning routine; a bellhop
(political satire pretty much requires a contemporary setting but who uses the term bellhop anymore…. I wonder if anyone played with that? Had the bellhop insist on a more modern work title? I did not think of it until now)
TITLE: El Salvador
SYNOPSIS: Tony Bozos is richer than God. It’s time for divine intervention.

Group 31 - Mystery/A scam/ A guest of honour

Struggled with this since I neither read nor write mystery. Then the most obvious mystery story I could think of was a murder but then I had to write about a scam instead.

I only came up with an idea that kind of worked on Thursday. Managed to finish in time but had to cut 1000 words last minute and ended up with like 6-10 typos and a less complex story. Any one know if they deduct a lot of points for typos?

Any way here it is:

Title

The case of the missing pen

Synopsis:

Tammy hates mysteries, so you can image her annoyance when her new stepfather assigns her to assist his detective friend with finding a rare, diamond encrusted pen that disappeared from his study early that morning.
