Hey, Cloaked .... I can't find your entry ... I don't think a 5 page sequence out of what may or may not be a fulll screenplay would disqualify, if it could stand alone ...

Would be interested to see where it says a 1000 words or just the opening to a screenplay? As I said earlier everything I've ever seen on this (apart from 1 email they quickly corrected) has made it clear it's a complete 5 page screenplay.

DBA - I agree, everything I've seen here is a complete screenplay. But if you were just going by the info supplied by NYCM, and didn't check this forum, you might not be clear. Have a look at the info and see if you agree.

In the Official Rules and Participation Agreement, it says:
11. Genre, Location & Object Assignment – In each challenge, writers are assigned a genre, location and object assignment for their screenplays. All screenplays must be 1,000 words or less, must be created within the competition periods (listed below in paragraph #16) and must include the genre, location and object assignment. :) Heather |

Heather - send that over to NYCM in an email. That's a mistake they need to be aware of.

Well, I dunno ... Is it a mistake? My screenplay is 1200 words ... but it is 5 + 1 pages ... maybe they did want a word limit ... well, I'm up 5hit Creek now! I still think Cloaked should put his screenplay in the review section ... a lot of shorts have open ends ... let's see what the plebs say without knowing the situation ... |

I'm pretty sure it is a mistake. The previous competition to kick off was the Flash Fiction, where the word limit was 1,000 words. I think it's just a hang over from that.
