Fun question! A dove! Any other trapped birds out there?

So many amazing answers! I am eager to read people's stories.
I went with a dog in a foot trap, with some not-so-subtle metaphor/mirroring of the main character breaking free of their cabin fever.

I went with a mouse in a snap-trap, and tried to hint at a girl freeing herself as well, but we will see if that comes through!

Sounds like a similar track to mine. I wonder how many went straight to the trap of Covid. I lost that bit in the final cut, but it was the driving force for sure.

It's interesting how many people went with non-animal creatures in traps. <edit> To be taxonomically correct they're all animals; let's just leave it as interesting... </edit>

I played with the idea of a moth in a spider's web for quite some time.
But when I sat down to write, I told the story of the "poster child" animal that always gets hunted as vermin- a fox. Little secret- even though I love all animals, I am not a massie fan of foxes as I have seen them kill dozens of lambs in one night (and not to eat them, simply to kill). I have loved all the takes on the prompt though! Lila
