I for one like having new tabs -- I like to scroll through houses and add a bunch to my "reading list" (group of open tabs) that I can then read at leisure. If each one opened in the same tab I would have to do it then and there with lots of back and forth...

Just read what others said about the ability to "open in new tab" via browser. If that works, then I retract what I said -- let the default be open in same tab and those like me who prefer multi-tabbing can do it manually

You can also hold ctrl (or function on a mac) and click a link to open it in a new tab, too, which can be handy.

I did some simulations of how results depend on house size, all else being equal. With some basic assumptions about how variable judging works and how story "quality" is distributed (quality = "ability of a story to win WB", because there's no such thing as an "absolute story quality"), it turns out that most things only depend weakly on house size (I guess this is because of the "sorting" nature of Swiss tournaments, where "like stories battle like"). For house sizes of 26, 40, 60, and 80, the actual number of total qualifying stories (assuming 170 total stories) went down very slightly as you went to larger houses (but there would be plenty of dark horses to make up for it), the average "story quality" of stories that got 8+ points went down very slightly (but remained high), and the variance in the "story quality" for stories that got 8+ points went down slightly. It seems like for reasonable WB sizes, the house size only matters for esprit de corps (although too small a house breaks the system because you can no longer do ten duels with no repeats against closely matched opponents). I imagine that if one made different assumptions about judging variability or "story quality" distribution, these conclusions could change slightly
