Group 118
Drama/Service Station/Wool Blanket Daddy Shark An emotionally troubled auto mechanic struggles with his first real grief experience. Welp, automatic DQ, I suppose. Didn't realize until it was too late that this was the ONE thousand word limit, not the two for the short story contest. I got so busy with stuff I just wasn't focused on this. I was really proud of what I did this time...I was like, wow, an economical 1300 words! First time ever I'm not right up against the word limit! Then about 15 minutes ago I noticed that I was actually well beyond it. I started trimming like a madman. Got it down to 1197 before time was just getting too short. And I still hadn't written a synopsis! It's a miracle I hit submit in time, even though it doesn't matter for much. Maybe they'll have mercy on me? Honestly now that I tanked it on the word limit, I wish I'd actually just submitted the 1300 word version. But I still like what I've got. Ah, well! Que sera sera.
