Phew! First submission in. I still definitely need to make some edits, but I figured I'd at least put one submission in as-is because one never knows
 Now for sleeps and taking my eyeballs away from the story for a while!

I'm on around 2000 words, but only two thirds of the way through my story! I need to do some serious editing.
Really glad today is a public holiday* here in Australia, as it gives me some extra time to work on my story. *Not saying it's right for the 26th of January to be a public holiday (as I'm aware it's a date that brings hurt to a lot of people), but simply that I'm glad for the extra time that I don't have to spend at work.

I was so busy with work the past two weeks I forgot about this until I opened my non-work email and account and OOOOOOOOOOOOOH! I got horror! That's a new one for me. And I am SO down for this. I'm actually doing research because I don't read or watch horror. I've never compiled notes for one of these before. 3 days to go! I can do this. Yep. Yep.

Tonight the magic finally happened... for me that is when the mess off jumbled words I spewed out Saturday have finally rearranged themselves into an actual story with heart and plot and characters I am rooting for. Now the fun of improving metaphors, adding humour and tightening descriptions... for me the hardest part is done!
