I got mine done so many hours ago, and am having a hard time not rhyming now. I purposely am not doing so in this, but it's really hard!

Submitted something with 2 minutes to spare. Honestly, barely proofread it.  I'm not sure if it was comedy or a story or wtf it was,  but it rhymed.

Time for the bar.

I've had a plot since day 2 or so, but it's been a personally pretty difficult week and I lost a lot of time to mental health and then yet more time to regular old procrastinating ahahaha. I was sitting at 0 words about 9 hours ago, and I'm just glad I got something submitted x)

Well done all fellow procrastinators!! NYCM gives us 8 days and we ... squander them and create headache and panic and never learn from our mistakes. Woohoo!! 🎉🎉

Love you ZoeLou, and I absolutely believe in your ability to pull out the most amazing sh*t straight out of your badonkadonk!

Badonkadonk?!?! That's a new word for me.
Agree ZoeLou will write something amazing.
She'll work out her rhymes, her meter, her phrasing,
As for the rest of us, let's wait and see...

(It is 11:17 am here in Sydney. I have been writing since 6pm last night (we had a long late lunch so didn't really need dinner) and I have just submitted.

Awww thanks you guys,
I got something in, to my surprise.
But now I'm stuck living in rhyme,
This is starting to feel like a poetic crime....

(Also Sparker you crack me up - Jayde and her badonkadonks will live on as the greatest story I've written hahaha)

Round of applause to everyone for getting those stories in, and best of luck with the judges!!!

I would hereby like to officially apologize to my story. It had so much potential, and started off great. The first 150ish words are amazing. And then..... I procrastinated.... Confused The rest of the story was written in a rush. I only got to 452 words. There was so much more that I wanted to develop, but I ran out of time (seems stupid to be saying that when we had 8 days to write)

Then I went to submit at around 11:30pm, so I would at least have something in. I hoped to get it uploaded and then spend the next 25 minutes trying to crank out a bit more and then resubmit at  the last minute. And it wouldn't upload to submittable... I kept getting an error message. This happened to keep both rounds of FF as well. I have no clue why all of a sudden Submittable doesn't like me, never had problems before. But thanks to my past issues, I had the link to the late submission page through NYC so I posted through there at 8 minutes to deadline.

I agree with Taaaylor, and KUDOS to anyone who made choices that favoured their mental health.

I loved this challenge.
Loved the rhyming, loved the process, loved my storyline…
Hate my submission.

This is probably the worst thing I’ve ever written.  It collapses at around 100 words, eventually gives up and dissolves into a puddle of “I just don’t care anymore.”  At the same time, I feel less strung out, less drained and in a better frame of mind than I’ve ever been at the end of one of these things.

I hope everyone got something out of this to be proud of, whether it manifested in the final product or not.  This was not my week to shine, but I now have a story that I didn’t have before (even if poorly suited to this format). I am so excited to be back and to read some great stories!

@zoelou: Jayde and her badonkadonks will live forever!

I'm wondering if it was hard to submit due to too many others trying to do so at the same time.

We submit when we can though, and you got it in, so don't listen to those who tell you to submit sooner to avoid that. It's kind of a DUH thing we all know. We do what we can. Glad you got it in! If it's not a suspense, your experience at least was.

Did you get it done? If not, don't beat yourself up! Just focus on how to get there next time. Focus on things that will encourage you to do it, instead of things that will discourage you to do it. Sometimes scaring myself into things helps.

If you did, don't beat yourself up. I find I've gone back several times and rewritten something that I can no longer submit because the time's up. I keep finding mistakes.

Either way, try to do what's best for you, being nice but encouraging. Ha! As if that's easy, but try.
