For those who have submitted, come have a seat, grab a drink, and celebrate getting through this wild experience!
For once, I have submitted several hours early. My prompts spoke to me immediately!

I'll have a nice glass of Chardonnay, if you please!
I am excited to be done. I have rarely gone up to midnight ('cuz I'm old and need my beauty sleep), but this is probably the earliest I've been done!

Submitted. All I can say, is that I’ll be using a flavor of CW in the forums that I’ve never used before. So, that’s something. |

Submitted - I've never made it past R2 and I don't expect to this time either, but I really enjoyed the rhyming story writing process, so I'll be signing up for this again.
Cheers! (Jamesons for me)

I found this a lot harder than R1, because I think light-hearted rhyme is easier for me than dramatic rhyme (my dark poetry leans more towards free verse), but overall I’m happy with what I wrote. Which probably means the judges will hate it
It’s still afternoon here so I’ll have a Coke Zero for now!

Same here...my 'Drama' in R1 was bordering on Comedy, so I found my genre of Suspense/Thriller really hard. I have just submitted mine, feeling okay about it but not thrilled. It was still loads of fun, though. It's 11am here in West Oz, so I'm going to have a shower. I dropped my daughter off at school in m dressing gown so i could spend my time getting my story ready to submit. 498 words - my R1 was 600 on the button. I like to cut it fine with the word count!

I wrote a single stanza on Friday night and the rest between the hours of 1 and 2:30 this morning, submitting with a cool 2 hours to spare. If a deadline is involved, I can only write when backed right up against it, haha.
Absolutely no hope of going through (7th is HM3 this time, and this one couldn't hold a even candle to Leonard's scatty outing) but it's been a fun journey, and I'm looking forward to seeing what people who actually get things done in a timely manner can do with 3 days and 500 words!

Definitely exhausted. Struggled with this one. Bandied about a bunch of ideas on Friday and Saturday, but couldn't land on anything I was excited about or could figure out how to do in 500 words or less.
Tried out two different ideas. Liked one better, even though writing it was harder. Only finished a first draft around 5 p.m. Submitted a draft at 8 just to be sure SOMETHING went in, and just submitted a second draft now. And I'm about 20 words below the max word count. I've never had that many words left to play with! I could add more, but I'd need to add a whole add'l stanza, which would surpass the word count. So... Yup. Done and bedtime.

Had 0 expectations for my round 1 rhyme, but scraped by with 8th, so this whole round felt like a freebie :) Super happy with how it turned out though, so I'm letting some hope creep back into the fold! Can't wait to see what everyone came up with. Edited by GS2 - 04 Dec 2022 at 10:31pm |
