Hey groupmate! I think we're the only two on the thread so far from G23. Good luck! I'll be sure to read yours if you post to the review thread.

Great!! I didn't even look at mine yesterday; it's taken a weird turn. I'm basically writing two stories and seeing which I like best. Why am I like this? LOL

Being my first challenge, I wasn’t overjoyed with action but by morning one I feel like I have something pretty good to work with.

I'm in the same group as you (also first challenge too) and felt the same about the prompts.
Oddball specifically has kind of been difficult to incorporate but I feel ok about it now. Not sure the character is odd enough.

Four days in though and I'm pretty much wrapping up. Hope you story is coming together nicely.

I got Group 44: Mystery/Antisocial/Anesthesiologist

I feel pretty good about the genre but other than that I'm a little worried. This may be the wrong place to post this but how exactly are we supposed to use the subject? I read the FAQs and the participation guide but I still don't seem to understand.

Could someone explain? I'm new to this particular challenge so I don't think I've done one with a subject before.

Thank you in advance and good luck eveyone! :)
Hi fellow groupmate! This is my first time getting Mystery, and as an Agatha Christie fan, I’m excited.
I took the subject to mean that the story will have to involve someone being antisocial, but I could be wrong?

Hi groupmate! ohh I love Agatha Christie, that's what I'm thinking too I spent most of the first few days with no idea of what to do but I finally got something a little different than what I had originally envisioned but I hope it works.  Good Luck! I look forward to reading to yours if you post it 😊

G69

Genre: Mystery

Subject: Siren song

Character: an organ donor

I think these prompts broke my brain. I spent the first day and a half trying to make an idea work that didn't, and the last day and a half with an idea that I like but I bit off WAY MORE THAN I CAN CHEW with the plot and am trying to wrestle it into something I can work with.

Is this contest always an emotional roller coaster? Asking for a friend.

Get out of my head. MY prompts broke me, made me fixate on something until i finally come up with a reasonable plot that I will need 5000 words to COME CLOSE to doing justice... blerg.  I mean...wheeeee!

I wasn't going to participate. I really wasn't. But something told me to sign up on the day the prompts dropped. I got group 53, fantasy, abundant, a painter. I am so NOT disappointed. And it's definitely the earliest I've ever submitted for SSC. It's also the first time I've felt the need to add content warnings. LOL
