Thanks! Good to know. I've been in a bit of a creative slump of late- hoping a deadline will kickstart that part of my brain again. Looking forward to the journey 😊

As I've never participated in one of these, can anyone tell me if we have the privilege of reading any of the stories once they've closed and judged the round?

Hi Foxtales, I read somewhere that we will receive an email letting us know when it will be ok to share.

Whoops - starting off on a good foot here. Meant to quote you, not just reply to the main thread. See reply above 🙃

Back in the 70s we used to do this without a web page to think for us.  In fact we entered an OS on an 8080 based micro using toggle switches and 16 bit words.  In those days I could read punch cards directly, but I never got that good at paper tape.

Hi Foxtales, I read somewhere that we will receive an email letting us know when it will be ok to share.

That's correct.

Usually about 2-3 days after you submit you'll get an email that lets you know you can submit to the forum. So, if your group members decide to post, you'll see their stories and other groups as well.

Make sure to wait for the email though.

If you haven't already seen it, here's a post of all the 411 on how to use these forums well:

I am ready! I have not written a lot of fiction so am excited for the challenge. I was blessed with the entry fee from one of my best friends who is a very talented and creative writer herself who has also joined for the challenge. I can see her going all the way! I cannot wait to get the assignment tonight and am down for anything. I was reading last years story winner and wowzers was that brilliant!

I really, really want historical fiction for this one. Have never gotten it, and that's a great one for this challenge.

Wait.

I DON'T WANT HISTORICAL FICTION.

Now I'll get it.

Historical fiction is a setting, not a genre...

Just over ten hours until the prompts are delivered and the clock starts ticking. Really excited to see what everyone gets and how my brain responds. My goal: land on an idea I love this weekend and have an outline by eod Monday. I can dream right? Let's do this!

It's one of the genres they assign for the competition, no?
