Group 1 - Ghost story/superficial/a hotelier.

I suspect this round is where I get off. But I have really enjoyed the challenge of writing unfamiliar genres - I basically only read fantasy/sci-fi - so I’m happy to get something so different again.

Group 10 - Mystery / A loophole / A huckster

Seems like a fun set of prompts, maybe hard to find a story small enough for the word count. I also have to work all weekend, so 1) yikes, and 2) coffee.

I had to Google what last bastion means so I'm off to a flying start. And now I'm going back to bed.

I used last bastion in a sentence at work earlier in the day yesterday and was a teensy bummed I didn't get this group LOL

Good luck!

Back-to back Rom Com and I am feeling ok about it! I was hoping for something I've never gotten before, but I love Rom Com and Romance so it's not a travesty or anything :)

I cannot WAIT to read the Bounty Hunter RomComs.

Haha, sod's law that. I actually did think of an idea fairly quickly. I strongly suspect I won't get through though with it because the event is so niche and I'm having to do exposition so that US readers aren't lost, but I felt more inspired by it than any other ideas I had.

Good luck with yours!

Group 3: Comedy/immortality/statistician

Last time I got comedy I gave up, sooooo let’s hope this one goes better. 😂 I generally write funny lines into my stories anyway, but the idea of HAVING to be funny just shuts my brain down.

No-one from group 2??
Suspense, a rancher, bulletproof.

I got suspense in the last round, so was hoping for a change and I know little about ranchers except what I've read in John Steinbeck.

I have written a first draft which so far doesn't have much suspense, has a rather British-sounding rancher, and no-one is bulletproof.

It's going well Pinch

I dare you to do this, it’s f**king brilliant.

I got group one: ghost story, superficial, a hotelier. I have a legit obsession with haunted hotels, so I thought this would be a breeze, but the need for the hotelier to be a relevant character is throwing me off a bit (and, yes, I know it doesn’t need to be set in a hotel, but like I said, haunted hotels are my jam).

Round 5! Action / Adventure, blunder, physician. So many different directions you could go with these. I’ve never had A/A and no brilliant ideas yet, clock is ticking!

I feel this so much. I'm funny, but not on purpose, but also not on accident, but don't ask me to tell a joke because I've never heard of such a thing.
