   So I was taken aback when I saw my confirmation email this morning - seems to suggest we won’t be writing for this comp again till mid-August. Is that correct? It seems a very long time!

	I think you mean Flash Fiction - there's a separate Short Story competition that runs roughly January to June. And yes, Challenge 2 is August 12-14. It takes a while to judge 4000 stories, and they're also currently running three other competitions at various stages.
