Suspense/Thriller
Pouring wine
“Honest“

Keys to the Safe

Mr. Sitwell, an honest man, pours merlot down his throat before calling. His left hand still partially bound, presses firmly atop a bullet wound.
“Operator” He croaks into the phone.
Doors down the hall are being burst open.
“Police” He whispers to a metallic voice.
They kick the door in, to the room next door, the wall shudders. Furniture is being overturned.
“Connecting” It rings once.
There's a rumble of voices getting closer.
It rings again.
The door behind him splinters.

Mr. Sitwell spins around sharply, too fast, blood oozes sticky from his wound.

“Altoona Police” A faraway voice says.

Oops! I think you posted in the wrong forum! Better relocate to the correct one (better safe than sorry, anyone online can read the Creative Writing Corner posts.)

If you can't delete, then you can edit and replace the story with something else (maybe a new link to the post in the right thread? People will be prompted to lpg in before seeing it that way)
