So glad to be done. For once, I actually like my synopsis. Maybe because I wrote it before I only had 5 minutes left to submit. . .

Sick Puppy
(Ops! Just realised I never put a title page, so can't read what I wrote in the entry form. I believe it is was something like this):

I really did submit my first draft, although I don't expect much since the writing is pretty raw I do think it has potential for redrafting. So not a waste of time!

Topanga, you are always welcome to come to my house for pie.  Seems I made one when you came to visit, did I not?

This one was damn delicious too.  You should stop by for a piece.

Eggcorn - I can't wait to read your story. It sounds pretty awesome.

As I mentioned earlier somewhere else, I was chuffed to get `horror' but due to a series of events ended up hard against the deadline. Now, comes the nail biting anguish whilst I wait to see if I made it in time..

One of the things that suffered in the end, was my title and synopsis. Pretty ordinary by anyone's standards, but I hope that it will still get a read here and there. Bit of coarse language throughout, hope that doesn't detract.

The demise of Barry Graham

Horror awaits a man forced to confront the ghosts of his past

Ben and Jerry's Peanut Butter Cup.  A whole pint was slaughtered in my house.  I don't know who the intruder was, or how they escaped unnoticed, but they did a very thorough job of murdering that pint.

How come everyone has good stuff to eat in their house but me?

Having Galaga in the story started out as a joke after joking with a friend about having the story be about Pac Man ghosts. And then I just couldn't get the idea of a story about Galaga out of my head. I knew how it would start and end but I really struggled getting the middle done.

SYNOPSIS: A former President and First Lady face challenges when their tight financial situation forces them to take a commercial flight to meet their new grandchild.

This was a really tough one for me, because political satire is so NOT my genre. I don't enjoy reading it, and, as I learned this weekend, writing it is even worse. This was the third completely separate concept I attempted to write for this challenge, and all I could say after submitting it was, "Well, at least that's done..."

Nightmare. Writing horror is my nightmare. I could have written a story about trying to write this dang story. Anyway, here's my title and synopsis:

The Yellow Chrysanthemums

A woman wakes in the warmth of her husband's arms and happily reflects back on when they met. But there's something in that room that isn't right and the more she tries to piece it together, the more immobile she becomes.

I feel your pain!  But this sounds great!

The Fifth Horseman
Let the right one through.

Cryptic logline, because I was at the point where I didn't care any more. Actually what happens is this: Airport security waves the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse through the line, but gives Grandma the rubber glove treatment.

I hate "political satire". Whatever it is.

And hey, people who reviewed my first story: Thank you so much, and I haven't forgotten you. I'll review yours, promise. I've been crazy busy the last few months. Hopefully Oct/Nov will be better than September was...

My brother had the Williams pinball machine "High Speed" in his house when I was a teenager.  I never minded babysitting for him!! LOL
