Christy's article about the elements of an award-winning 100-word story is heartening. I feel like I CAN DO THIS! I've made it to the second or third round every time I've competed in the 100. I know there's something *there* and that I can be doing more of whatever it is. But Christy's article laid out in clear, concise language exactly what makes a great micro, and I'm going to internalize alllll the tips and use them this weekend!

If you haven't read it yet, it was in today's email from NYCM. Christy has won the 100-word comp TWICE, and her wins are well-deserved. I've always enjoyed her well-crafted stories and now I know her secrets. Muahahahaha!

Good luck to everyone this weekend!

I just learned that she can't compete this year because winning twice has knocked her out of the competition for two years. What a bummer!

That IS a bummer that 2-time winners can't compete. Then again, I wish I had such problems! Wink

Such great tips from Christy -- thank you for giving us something to chew on as we compete!

I meant to read it before writing this year's 100, after one of my writing partner/beta readers said she loved it. But a poorly organized calendar had me at a friend's surprise birthday party (I should micro-sized this response!), so I didn't get around to reading it before submission.

BUT just did and it IS so helpful, Christy! Thanks so much for sharing! (I remember enjoying your 3 pigs story. :))

And thanks for the reminder link, Coach Lisa!

Hard disagree. I'm personally ecstatic that she's been kicked out to give the rest of us a chance for once.
