That's right: Jerboa Lit has TWO CONTESTS open now for registration: our classic 500-word contest, and a brand new 250-word mini-contest!
THE INAUGURAL JERBOA LIT 250 MINI: On FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27 at 10PM Central time (UTC -05:00), entrants from around the world will receive a prompt that includes a genre and a character – randomly drawn from our very special Video Hat live on YouTube – and will then have 48 hours to incorporate those elements into a 250-word story. (If you’ve taken part in an NYC Midnight contest before, it’s our fun take on a similar process.) Entry is $15, and results will be announced within a month!
THE 4TH JERBOA LIT 500: Then, on FRIDAY, MARCH 13TH, we kick off our traditional 500-word contest. Genre, item, phrase! 48 hours! $2,200 in prizes, including a $1,000 grand prize, with publication and optional editorial feedback for all stories! There are three levels of entry for the 500: $15 (no feedback), $25 (our regular amount of feedback from both judges), and $60, if you want a LOT of feedback from us on your piece.
