Greetings,

I have been trying to complete my submission for the Scary Story Challenge 2025. I created an account on Submittable and populated the entire form. I tried uploading my story three different ways (Word, RTF, Plain Text). When I click on the 'Submit' button, I receive a message in a pink box with red text that says, "There was an error saving your form. Please try again or contact support."

I have found a couple of other instances on this forum where a participant has encountered a similar issue. I plan to e-mail my submission to NYC Midnight and keep my fingers crossed. In the meantime, I would love to know if anyone has found a solution to the problem that will simply allow me to upload my story.

Was it submitted as a .docx?

Yes - I tried .docx, .rtf., and .txt formats, all to no avail.

By way of follow-up, a helpful administrator at NYC Midnight responded to my e-mail inquiry immediately and provided additional guidance on how to proceed. I couldn't get Submittable to take my upload, but I was able to use the late submission/technical difficulties http://www.nycmidnight.com/late" rel="nofollow - link on the NYC Midnight website.
