The bereavement is real. Have you heard of Ink 2 Screen? I just found out about it a couple months ago and wish I had sooner. First time entering in July and I shortlisted! From my very limited experience, it looks like it's a photo prompt every month with maybe an additional requirement from time to time. I can't comment on feedback yet but I'll receive that tomorrow. Sounds like the participant numbers aren't that high - the email I received with the shortlist said that there were over 30 entries this month. So, pretty good chances. I had a go at the short screenplay last year, wrote my first two screenplays ever, felt like I really learned a lot from it, and managed to place both times but *just* fell short of points to advance. I was really looking forward to coming back swinging this year but disappointed it was cancelled. I didn't enter the 500-word out of spite. Haha, only kidding, I love NYC Midnight. But I wish the short screenplay challenge was still here. Just when I discovered it, too! That Ink 2 contest looks good. | This was also my favorite by far. The first round of the regular screenplay competition requires taking time off work to do justice to. And none of the others peak my interest. Very sad. |

Same here, hah! I joined NYC Midnight last year with my first challenge being the Short Screenplay. I loved it and couldn't wait to have another go this year. I definitely ignored the 500w challenge out of spite.
