I’ve drawn historical fiction this round and have based my story around a real person, who happened to write down some really nice quotes I’d like to include in my story. Just wanting to check that’s ok and not classed as plagiarism or anything?

Yes, this should be fine, as long as it's clear that you are not passing the quotes off as your own and are attributing the author. Good luck, and please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else!
