Hello! I'm not actually looking for betas myself just yet (more of a frantic last hour kind of girl) but I saw a few people looking for a beta sheet and put one together!

It's my first time making one so apologies if the formatting is a bit funky ;)

Here's a copy/paste from the Flash Beta sign up because I'm too lazy to write one myself, and BuryBadBooks put it perfectly anyways:

How It Works:
  • If you are interested in participating, fill out the info on the sheet. Name, email, etc.
  • Please mark when you will be "open" to read and give back feedback and when you are "closed" so people don't email you without getting a response back. Nobody wants to be left hanging!
  • If you are chosen by someone to read their story, please respond to them in the email if you are ready OR will get to them in an hour or two OR if you're too full and can no longer read it. It's ok to reject people if you become too busy or are not down with the genre but PLEASE respond in some manner!
  • Email the beta you think will be a good fit to give you feedback on. Be sure to connect with someone who likes your genre. If your genre is romance, might not be the best idea to reach out to the beta who says "I can't stand romance". LOL
  • Have your work in a Google Doc (this works best for editing suggestions)
  • Have your Google Doc be OPEN to for others to open once you send the link (in the settings)
  • A friendly reminder, please offer to read someone else's work, a little quid pro quo, when you ask someone else to read yours. Fair's fair.

Hot Tips:
  • Please take all beta's suggestions as needed/with a grain of salt. We are not judges. But some of us may have been around the block enough times to suggest something they know a judge WOULD mark down on. But again, take with a grain of salt. Always go with your gut in the end.
  • Feel free to ask as many betas as you like but remember the ye ol' saying of "too many cooks in the kitchen". Don't overload yourself with a ton of different people's opinions. You'll run out of time to submit and you'll just keep editing!
  • BE KIND. BE NICE. When you're critiquing someone's work suggesting ways to make a sentence stronger is good! Saying a sentence is stupid and they should take it out is bad! See? Ok? Ok.
  • Sound good? Great! Good luck peeps. Get those points! LET'S GO!

Good luck have fun!!! :D

Crap sorry Zoe. I just emailed you a draft then realised you had listed yourself as closed.

Yep I'm psychic, and sitting at 340 stubborn words. Anyone free to come ruthlessly murder 100 words of my story?

Thank you so much for setting this up! I didn't use a beta reader last time and it's been incredibly helpful to swap stories with a fellow contestant today for feedback and improvements!

No kidding you were a frantic last hour kind of girl for this round! No idea what you do most rounds, but you write great stuff so it certainly works!

Thanks for setting up this list and thanks for pointing out the blindingly obvious as my beta.
