Suspense, in a cellar, with a pistol.

Good news, it's a completely new genre!  It's not romance or comedy!  WooT!

Going to go sleep on it.

My friends asked me last night at dinner. “What’s the ONE genre you really don’t want?”
My answer:Typically I would say Political Satire but you all know I’m pretty good at snark and it’s such a rich subject right now. In the past I’d have said Sci Fi but there’s a freedom in making up a world that turns out however you want. They JUST gave me Historical Fiction so I won’t get that again so…Romance. Definitely don't want ROMANCE.
Romance - A Newsstand - A Parking Meter
Tell me; is Danielle Steele secretly in charge of Group 34? Wtf? Oh yeah. Don’t forget it’s a NEWSSTAND. In 2019. Not 1919.

Romcom. Hospital. Staple remover. Note to self: avoid obvious cliches.  Although I’m in west Kenya at the mo filming a documentary so will be lucky to have an hour to work on. After getting an 11th place round one I’m not even sure I should bother trying. Oh well.

I’m cracking up - did they actually write “IN a volcano?” Cuz that’s been done. And with Tom Hanks no less.

I did NOT want sci-fi. Sci-fi, a welding torch, a veterinary clinic. Really wanted romance or rom-com. It’s a new genre though so it will be a learning experience. Good luck!

- The one and only genre I have no interest in writing in... (okay, I’d be uncomfortable with comedy as well)
- I need to work all weekend to prepare for business meetings...

Oof, tough one for me - Fantasy, steel mill, blackboard.

I think steel mill is a potentially GREAT fantasy setting, just not sure I can pull it off - never had this genre, so intrigued.

For someone who sucks at plot...um, yikes. Haha.

TRULY.

I keep getting really industrial-esque prompts too-- I had both mine shaft and an underpass in the FFC this year, and tunnel in our last one for this (as you know)... I feel like there's something the universe is telling me about dark dangerous spaces...

Hey groupmate... I know, right?
I know these things are generated in advance so it’s just a coincidence, but I made avocados a major plot device in my last script so this feels... weird.

Is it Suspense?  Thriller?  Horror?  Or is it Memorex?  The judges will have to decide.

This one, for once, is writing itself.  Maybe a little horror in there, but I'm going to make it ambiguous enough to leave more questions than answers at the cut.

Seriously, after all those roms and coms I deserve something that writes itself.  A pistol in the cellar?  Not that much different than finding a small moon in the remains of the Alderan system.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Yeah. But now that I'm on day three with eight hours to go and no first draft my first comment seems laughable.
