Synopsis: A suicidal gambler with a tragic history tries to gamble for good memories, but finds that no matter how bad things are, they can always get worse.

Good luck to everyone who entered. For my first time doing this one, this was really fun. =)

EDIT: That said, I really lamented not having another 1,000 words. This was so much darker in the original version.

A retired police dog sniffs his way through the Westminster Dog Show to track down an old friend. He discovers that slobbering after the Best in Show award is a bone of contention that could land someone in the doghouse.



I was just thinking ours sound similar, but you actually were assigned a dog show! I just included dogs in mine. Can't wait to read it. I'm glad you ended up signing up this round!

OMG Stephen, you just gave me a heart attack! I was scratching my head as soon as the prompts dropped as to how a pug was an object! I did think about a nodding dog, but ended up writing the silliest, tropiest (that's not a word!) thing ever!

I just could not get my plot to come together and I really struggled with how much "drama" needed to be added. Oh well. Time will tell! I wrote in a different style than I normally do AND a different tense AND I took the location in a different way than I hoped other people would (fingers crossed!). Hoping to get some great feedback from the forum later this week.
