Group 11 -- Ghost story -- discipline -- sea captain.

... I literally just wrote about ghosts in a lighthouse for round one!

*facepalm*

Hey, I didn’t make it to round 2 but I was hoping to still try and do a second round for myself by using a randomizer to pick a heat number but when I go to the website I only see the assignments for round 1. I see the clock counting down for round 2 but not the new assignments. Does anyone know why this would be or if there is some other way to see them so I can pick a heat for myself? Thanks so much and good luck everyone

Heat 9 again - Horror/A wish list/A security guard

Kicking some ideas around and wondering where to start. It’s not easy to be original with horror. And to condense a story in just 8 pages is quite a challenge!

Feeling the adrenaline pump. And loving it.

Good luck to everyone :-)

Actually, the basis of the word "plumber" is latin - relating to someone who works with lead. Going back to Roman times...

I always thought I wanted Historical Fiction.

Thought.

Damn. What I wouldn't give for a punchy political satire right now.

Me too! Though, at the moment, I'd just be grateful for a workable idea...fingers crossed!

I've enjoyed mine, but then I'm a history nut.  Given you don't have a clean weekend to work on it...yeah.  You'll smash it, though!  Big smile

Heat 2: Action/adventure / reputation / a groundskeeper

LOL - Hey there, heat-mate! Groundskeeper Willy, that's hilarious. Thank goodness I didn't read this until *after* I finally came up with an idea, or I'd never have been able to get past that visual. LOL

A second heat-mate! Cool!

Wicked! A third heat-mate! Can't go wrong with Caddyshack. LOL

This one almost lends itself to humor. Is it me, or is this combo actually kind of tough??? I mean, groundskeeper almost feels like the opposite of action/adventure. Tongue

Hey, round 1 heat-mate! :) Looks like we're in different heats this time, but I got Action/Adventure, which isn't too far off Thriller. How are things going with you this time around? I'm finally nailed down on a story idea and just have to write it. LOL

Who said a Historical Fiction couldn't also be a political satire? TONS of fodder in history for a blend like that, I think. Big smile

Why not set your piece in ancient Rome, make the main character a plumber trying to solve a problem or devise some "new" plumbing method, and have the whole thing go awry when... someone... invades. If you wanted to infuse PolSat into it, the invaders might be in need of "the facilities," only to have plumber guy tell them they are for Roman citizen only.

Another chance to stretch as a writer as I have never written a mystery.
