YUP.
Fastest ever, this one was. I mean, I'll rework for sure, but it went WELL.
After sleeping on it, maybe I'll grow to hate it, but for now, I'm weirdly satisfied with my first Historical Fiction. Huh.

In my beta request, I forgot to mention that I'll toss around ideas with you if you need it! Still waiting for feedback on my first draft.

Yah, I submitted mine a few times already. Tweaking it, and I am getting FANTASTIC feedback from my GLORIOUS beta readers whom I've decided are all the Angels of God.

I submitted mine the moment I got it down to 5 pages, lol. That may NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN so I'm taking advantage.

I submitted last night. Not sure I'll even look over it again at this point. I've given up trying to get into the minds of the judges, and there's little time for second-guessing. Especially with historical fiction (a first for me), which requires a bit of research even if you're only using a time period or event and not a person. I almost miss the really old days of having a week and 20 pages. But not really -- hard to get real work done.

Submitted. Ugh. I don't feel good about it, and may tinker with it again later, but not much. It is what it is. And btw, I officially HATE historical fiction. I researched longer than I wrote, then went completely weird and twisted the past to do what I wanted it to (and to incorporate a bank and a clothesline of course). Whatever.

Hahahaha. Sounds like me. Last time I wrote something based on history, my version of history turned out to be so much more entertaining.

How many of us got HistFic??? Because I had it, too. And it was my maiden flight, so to speak. Here's to hoping I'll soar.

I think mine is too, but I feel like historical fiction isn't supposed to be silly, so I may have totally shot myself in the foot.

Done ! Back to the question I've seen time and time again - the fine line between comedy and rom-com. My husband thought it "touching" and my heart went oops! It isn't a meet-cute at all.
Besides that - I think it is one of the better scripts I've done. Hopefully there aren't any "unfilmables". We still have at least six hours to tear down and rewrite again, and again.

Well, I have to say, I've never done a horror one before, and I do *NOT* do horror.
Still, I got something banged out, and if the judges don't react TO the horror, they'll react IN horror.

...and done. For the next few moments I will bask in the glow of a brilliant work that has no room for improvement.
Soon enough reality will strike, and I'll realize I killed a payoff and left a set-up, or vice versa...too many ideas, not enough paper.

Just posted mine. I've had no time for betas....not sure I want them. Certainly have no time to respond anyway. I LOVE historical fiction and CHOSE it madly for R3 finals for short story last year, but it's a killer as MOST of my weekend has been involved in that paint splatter of ideas where your brain goes off at every tangent and researching so many ideas that never come to fruition. They may one day, but....I like this story.....I think it may be too big for 5 pages and everyone will be asking too many questions. You're all gonna think I've gone one way, when I haven't - which makes me smile already as I know you'll be thinking it's something it's not - but will be having a dirty little peek haha! It's 2.35am here now and I have work tomorrow (TODAY!) but I'm going to read through and check for anything I can correct if necessary.....I so wish they gave us 24 hours after submission to do that. Fresh eyes, fresh eyes!!
Good Luck everyone!

I think sometimes you just need to do what you're doing and that's just fine. So you glad you splattered your paint and I look forward to reading!

Got ours in. I like it a lot, but I’m pretty sure we won’t be moving on... even if we got a 15 on it. This is what we get for taking a break and sitting out the Spring competition. Oh, well... we’re back in the swing of things, so looking forward to kicking ass in the Spring. :)

Got it in, wit 17 minutes to spare. Unless I hear back from a beta reader with something glaring, I'm through. What a day. The internet has been out all day and I had to use cell phone hot spot (good-bye data for the month). I'm relatively happy with the final product, but will need a lot to add to those 7 points and move on. Thanks to all my beta people. It really, really helped. And I read some dynamite scripts, so be on the look out everyone!

Welcome back, Trish. I've been here off and on since 2009. I saw your other comments on the other forum about being able to actually complete something. I totally agree. Life gets so busy but I know I have 48 hours I can do something...anything...and finish it.
Looking forward to what you have done!

I only submitted mine six times this time! Last time, I think it was 8 or 9! :D
(And, sadly, after the deadline, I found something I wanted to change. Luckily, it was just the one thing, and it was pretty small. I need to stop reading it because I'll just find more!)
