Hi all! I have a question for ya all.
As the Master List maintainer for the 250 word Microfiction Challenge I have a question that I could use some input on. This competition had massive response of people wanting to post their stories in the forum for others to read last year. The stories, because of the small word count, are posted right in their forum post without the need for a Google or other link. My question: if, in the master list I only post the writers forum handle in their respective heat-genre would this pose a problem? My thinking is that as the stories are only 250 words most people will read a whole heat's entries despite what the titles are. This would really lessen the amount of work those first few days would entail to post them in the master list if just posting the forum name of the author. It would only be done in the 250 word challenge and not in the Short Story Challenge Master List I also maintain - I would of course still post name and title in the Short Story Challenge as I never woke up to 50 pages of requests to be posted in that contest, haha. I am not saying I am going to do it this way, just looking for some feedback on it, if there is enough of you that think that would be OK for the 250 word challenge then I will consider it. Thanks for your replies! Remember there are no right or wrong comments, just chip in your thoughts! Suave.

Mm personally I like seeing the titles, as I find myself clicking on stories I might have otherwise never read thanks to a particularly hooky title. However, I know that the masterlists are an insane amount of work. I have a slight inclination to keeping the titles but would not mind going without if it kept you sane and made the list more reasonable to manage ;)

Thanks for your input. I agree, I like the titles, but for such short word counts sometimes the title is almost as large as the story, haha. The micro is the only one I would suggest doing that with.

I agree with Taaaylor, I think the titles are actually more interesting than the usernames in choosing what to go and read.

Very true, specially in a contest the draws so many new competitors. I would say the consensus is moving towards, "the keep the titles."

For the two micro comps, you copy and paste your text directly into the submission box so no loglines!

Agree. Titles more useful than user names.
If you're interested in a particular writer, you can search posts by that user /threads they started anyway.

I agree. But for most of us that have been around for sometime we recognize the names and look for them to read. From the feedback I have received here I will be keeping it title and name.
