Uh... so I've just gone on submittable and it is asking me what genre I think best describes my story... eek! I don't know! That's the joy of 'open'.... now I have to guess??

I landed pretty solidly in Fairy Tale so no worries on genre for me - Drama seems like the most likely catch-all?

Oh wait, you're a female author, it should clearly be Romance. </sarcasm> I knew a lady debut author who couldn't get her book published unless she let the publisher (?) market it as a romance. She was not best pleased. It did well enough that she was allowed to just be "literary fiction" for her next books though!

hahahaha! Maybe I should have called it fanfic or something and they'd have had low expectations? (That said, there is some pretty good fanfic out there!) Anway... I'm done. I've submitted. 3 times because I got the title wrong on the first one, and the spacing wrong on the second.... But it's done! Time for a glass of wine and to forget all about it! I wish the rest of you much skill as you continue! |

24 hours is both nowhere near enough time and way too much time.
I think I'm going to step away from it for a few hours; I can no longer tell the difference between revising and noodling.
