Hello :) I saw a comment elsewhere from NYCM asking for input on future upgrades for the forum. So I figured I'd start a thread! (Thank you, NYCM team, for opening up the conversation on that to current users) Here's the relevant part of the comment:
What would be on your list of dream improvements to the forum design? What aspects of the current forum do you like and want to see stick around? |

Well, there is a lot of room for improvement and happy that NYCM is looking to modernize the forums. Here are a couple things I'd love to see: - Ability to tag people - Ability to delete comments. Currently one can edit comments and remove all the content, but one can't actually get rid of the post. |

Possibly make it easier to make the signature and put more than two entries in it.

Make it easier to look at past challenges, to see assignments, the rankings in each round, the winners. Right now, I have to do a google search to get to that. I also agree with Suave about the signature.

Definitely the ability to reply to comments directly (similar to how it's structured on Reddit and pretty much anywhere else)! The way it is now, where a "reply" just adds another comment to the bottom of the pile, isn't my favorite...would prefer not to have to rely on a combo of whole new comment + quote as a response.
Also, maybe a way to sort comments on/responses to a post? Most recent first, oldest first, etc.

My first thoughts are exactly what Jenn and Tim have mentioned. To actually tag people would be so helpful, as would be the ability to delete comments. And I'm not the most tech savvy, but I think most would agree that adding and updating signature links is far from being user friendly!
It would also be good to know who has clicked "thanks" on your posts. Unless there's a way already, and I've just not figured it out?! Which is highly possible

This. Pretty much every other forum I have used in ages has a 'reply' button attached to a post mean you're quoting and replying to THAT post/comment. Making it easier to have multiple links in sigs without having to go hunt down a mini URL generator somewhere else.

Notifications if you are tagged or replied to! (Or if someone replies on a thread that you started). Ideally to have the notifications alert in the forum, not just by email. This would be amazing!

Threaded replies, post deletion, ability to like or add emoji responses to comments (similar to Slack), use standard hyperlink to post previous submissions in signature instead of the complicated and archaic html code process
