I listened to the music from my favorite podcast, The Adventure Zone.

Because I'm a nerd at all times.

I had "Bob's Burgers" as background noise. LOL

Last year music from the 1800's really helped me get in the right mindset to write an Edwardian era historical fiction.

You mean you don't listen to music from the 1800's on a daily basis?

I admit, I also had The Andy Griffith Show as background noise before I decided on Patrick...

I wish I were so classy. Heck, I even wish I listened to opera more often.

I have a customized "writing mix" of various film soundtracks for general writing that includes random moody things like The Hours soundtrack by Philip Glass, The Ring soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, the Solaris (2002) Soundtrack by Cliff Martinez, etc, although I sometimes pick specific soundtracks or types of music depending on what I'm writing.

For instance, I listened to all action movie soundtracks when I wrote an action-adventure some time ago, and I listened to the Game of Thrones soundtrack when i wrote something set in the 1400s Europe.

For the short story challenge round 1, I listened to the Spotify playlist of "Soundtracks for Studying" but then dipped into gospel, African American spirituals and the 12 Years a Slave playlist on Spotify since I was writing about a slave woman in the South in 1862.

Depends entirely on my mood.

This competition, it was mostly silence or a Pandora station seeded from the artists called "Yoshida Brothers."

Though I did spend some significant time on YouTube *not* writing, but exploring traditional Myanmari music as part of my research.

If you ever want some recommendations, I can help you out. I listen to music from the 1800's (and even before the 1800s...Baroque Era represent!) all the time.
