My working title was 'Unbearable'. I liked it, but it contained a pun which would have felt really mismatched to the story.

I was eleven...

I went for 100%  drama this time x) usually (i.e. four of the five times I've been in the finals lol) I do something with an SFF flavor but decided to shake it up this time around.

No matter how I tried, no matter the fact that I feel like NYCm judges most often reward feely drama in the finals, I ended up with horror. However, I hope that the dark humanity in it resonates with the readers...

It ... triggers a majority of the content warnings. I think it's easier to list the ones I won't need to warn about though some are by implication rather than express. I'm actually wondering if I will hit a record for most crammed into 250 words.

I know that judges tend to go from drama in the final round, but I wanted to do something ME, which means I ended up slightly horror, slightly fantasy, all me.
