Links in Signatures

   All right, maybe I'm overthinking this...
I'd like to put links in my signature to my previous works, like so many others, but perhaps I was dropped on my head one too many times, because for the life of me, I can't seem to get the signature to accept a link.  Secondary menu does not give me an option to place a link in the text on the Signature window when I'm editing my profile, and more specifically, my signature.

What am I missing? 

FYI: running a Mac, using Safari 15.6.1, on macOS 12.6.1 (Monterey), if that matters.
