I think, yes, it can contain rom-com elements
I have been married 32 years and am lucky to still say my relationship is romantic but omg, without humour it would have fizzled out years ago!

Amen! I don't really know how to do romance without comedy!

I finished!!!! I just need to reread a couple of times and make some clean up edits. I’m going to try really hard not to do any substantial rewrites, but wow! I finished!

Hi there Goldengirl in Chicago
Good for you my lovely. Submit it now as is, while you are still within the time and then resubmit if you make major edits, just in case there are technical problems at 11.59. A friend left submission of her dissertation following a 4 year degree to the last 20 mins then lost 5% for late submission marks as the site went down.

Just a side note, the Golden Girls was a favourite show of mine in the 80's, your forum name has just resurfaced many funny memories. I was in my teens at the time and I actually looked forward to my golden years. However, as they approach (as I'm in my 5th decade) I'm not quite as excited!

Aaaaaand DONE. I thought I was done two hours ago, submitted. Reread, found errors. Resubmitted.

May read one more time. But something I like is now officially in, so PHEW.

Good luck to everyone still writing/editing!

Well done my lovely!
Hope you did a little victory high five in the air or a little gig in your chair!
Now the loooooong wait.

I have loved and hated the journey in equal measure, however, it can't have been all bad as I am already researching other competitions.

Done, done, and done!

I finally submited my Final_Final version (LOL), and completed the last of the beta reads I promised to do.

I really enjoyed my first Short Story Comp.  I'd done the Flash Fiction weekend before, but it was so lovely having a full week.  It allowed me to read so many other people's stories Heart

When I first saw my prompts I knew this one was gonna be a killer and I was not wrong. Threw away my first story on Monday. Didn't have a crappy first draft(ish) until last night. But somehow it's done, submitted and however this goes, kinda proud of myself for sticking it out.

Good luck everyone who's still writing (and procrastinating by reading the forum :) You got this!!!!!!
