I spent an obscene amount of time sucked into the cool world of hover bikes...

I love this thread and how creative and detailed everyone has been. So impressed, especially given such a short window of time.

I had horror, winery, alarm clock - so my initial thought was something around an alarm clock bomb - (was horrified by the Netflix documentary 'The Evil Genius')

But I panicked that delving too deep into alarm clock bombs would be a bit of an issue....

So I googled winery horror stories then.

Which mostly centred around the spit bucket and were very entertaining!

So my search features alarm clock bombs, pizza delivery killer and winery horror stories....

Eek!

Pretty much knew what I was writing immediately, Googled
just the once, "slave swamp," and my location was the
first listing. I am already familiar with the era, have read
so much, so I was off to the races, though I bogged down for
12 hours after writing the first two lines and deciding that they
would be my synopsis, had to percolate, and then started in earnest.

Oh, I'm looking forward to what you found.

I think i did as much research as you, but most of my research was on kidnapping stories like Charley Ross and Lindbergh baby... and then i completely abandoned my kidnapping story.

HA! I'm glad I'm not the only one with paranoid thoughts when I go to do research. One time when I needed to sort out what the further-down line of succession would be if the president, vice president, etc. were all murdered I started googling and then thought "hmmmm" and opened a tor browser before continuing my investigation LOL

Mine was horror at a winery. I did some research on wine caves, and tried to do research on items in a winery that would make a good killing instrument, but got frustrated and end led up using a trusty axe. They need axes to dismantle barrels, right?

Hi heatmate jimiflan!!

I love reading about everyone's research!! I'm a "pantser" and I really have no idea where my stories will go. My list here was mostly in research order, so my first idea was to set it around a historical baby carriage story but I couldn't find one in NY for the time period I was imagining, so my story went in a different direction.

There was one in London in the mid-1800s where a man kept intentionally smacking his pram into a pedestrian and he was in court and the arguement was such a giant wheeled thing should be in the road, not on the narrow sidewalk.

Hahahahaha!!!!

Was writing a suspense about fishing poles and a junkyard, but it turned into "historical fiction" about the 2016 Ghost ship warehouse/rave fire.

As such I have some interesting Google's such as:

- LSD symptoms

- Ecstasy better party drug than LSD

-Molly come down

-Ecstasy come down

-Ecstasy come down apathy?

-Ecstasy Molly different?

- Oakland fire service

-Ghost ship Snapchats
