I just noticed a glaring error in my story. What chance do I have to move on?

Hello,
Is it just a typo? Can you elaborate on glaring? ![]() Or do you mean non-compliance to the Genre/subject/character component? To be honest as far as I'm aware all decisions re this at at NYCM's discretion. I'm just remembering what was in the rules. Personally, I think prompt interpretation is varied across the board. The marking scheme for the judges is as follows: 15% Format (Adherence to paragraph #14, but not including Length) 15% Spelling and Grammar 70% Story (Writing, Originality, Character Development, and Plot Development) Hopefully, you'll be fine. Perhaps more seasoned users on these fora can give you more insight. Anyway, best of luck! Fingers crossed. Edited by Nimhathuna - 10 Feb 2021 at 2:34pm |

Yeah I think it depends on the type of error.
I will tell you though that in short screenplay I accidentally used the wrong character name, and I thought it made no sense, but I did still move on regardless.

Thank you everyone. The mistake was in calculating the years in my story.
I'll wait and see....

Here’s my prediction ....
Only one of the three judges will even do the maths and notice. That judge will certainly mention it and point it out as a shortcoming. But he or she will be so proud of making the discovery that he or she will be subconsciously thanking you for providing the opportunity for he or she to show how clever he or she is. This might work in your favour!!! The glaring errors in my stories are normally so obvious that no one can take pride in discovering them. I am thus punished for not making a better attempt at hiding my ineptitude. I think you’ll be fine.
