I'm a little late to this, but thought I would jump in.
Group 65
Suspense/thriller
Theme: Community
Emotion: threatened

It all seems to work well together but thriller has never been my strongest skill. Definitely trying to channel Poe on this one.

I feel blessed to be in group 17: Ghost Story / Glamour / Startled. I feel like a rhyme scheme really lends itself to telling a ghost story for some reason

I just started these competitions because I haven't written anything not work related since college, and flexing my rhyming muscles after so long was definitely an experience! I broke it up into stanzas so it definitely reads as a poem, but there is a plot and sense of movement as a story so I think I fit the qualifications. Either way, I am pleased with the final product, though sometimes the cadence gets a little wonky haha

Good look everyone! I can't wait to have the opportunity to read what everyone does--especially in my category! Smile

I am not a poet by any stretch of the imagination! So I wasn't sure how this would work out, but got it done!
Mine is also in stanzas, so reads like a poem. Or, I suppose, a story poem or rhyming story!
Good luck to all.

Mine is also written in stanzas, as are most of the ones I've beta-read, so we're all on the same page, pun intended, *lol!* I guess they can be considered as paragraphs, with changes at appropriate junctures.

I got:

Group 29
Ghost Story
Cherish
Remorseful

I had 850 words the first day then proceeded to fill the remaining week with a procrastinator's efforts to cut 25% in order to adhere to the word count, then also more time tweaking lines here and there.

A very enjoyable challenge overall, and I look forward to reading others' works :)
