When we submit our writing to the contest, do we in any way lose the rights to the work? I know that specific copy belongs to the contest (I did in fact struggle through the contest agreement form) but do we in any way lose the rights to use the writings ourselves?

Nope. It's ours. Just know that if you post it to a public blog or other publicly available space you may not be able to sell it later.

Hi Andrea,
No, the writers retain all the rights to the stories they create and submit during the competitions. If we do end up wanting to publish your story on the website or through another form of media, we will work out a separate agreement once the competition is over and it will always require the approval of the author. Please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else. Thanks and we hope you enjoy the competition!
