Well, long story short, I submitted one minute late on the 500 word challenge because my Microsoft Word deactivated itself 25 minutes before submissions were due, then I panicked, couldn't figure out how to use Google Docs, forgot my login, etc... lol
I managed to submit, but Submittable says it was received at 12:01 - the status says Received, whereas my round 1 story says In Progress. Any insight into any of this? Appreciate it!

Mine still says received too. It just means someone hasn't done one of the things on submittable that triggers the "in progress" switch.

That sounds really stressful and I had a situation where I could not get anything to upload to Submittable one time so I definitely understand how you feel. I’m glad you were able to submit something. As to whether it’s still is eligible for round two, I think that’s up to NYC Midnight and you may not know until results are released. Perhaps they have a small grace period. And if it’s only a minute, I think you have a good chance of still being a contender. I know that they do accept stories up to an hour after the deadline. These late stories are eligible to receive feedback, but I don’t think they’re eligible to continue in the competition. Again, I have no idea if this applies to you since you were so close to the actual deadline. Your story will continue to say received until it is opened or read, in which case it will say in progress. I find it normally stays in “received” for a couple of weeks or so. Good luck!

I appreciate the info! Hopefully it qualifies. At any rate, I am a bit doubtful this story would have moved on anyway haha. So at least it's not like, "oh I am sure I had a super high chance to win the round." Round 1, I did with my mom and sister. I told them, "I am fairly certain we will all advance," and we got 3rd, 4th and 5th. This time around, I am thinking we all get honorable mentions, maybe haha.

Very impressive showing! Last year. My daughter entered the 250 with me and out of 100 groups, we are placed in the same one. Ugh. She got an HM and I didn’t get anything. Haha.

That happened to my mom and I, same group, in both 1st and 2nd rounds haha. My sister has been in different groups both rounds.
