With less than 10 hours to go until the next round, what genre are you dreading and what are you hoping to see? I would love to get fantasy, fairy tale, romantic comedy, mystery or crime caper.

I am only dreading mystery. After getting an HM in last year’s round 3 I have determined that it is impossible - for me - to write a strong Flash mystery.

I would love political satire, drama, historical fiction, sci fi, or comedy. I am pretty tired of fairy tale, fantasy, romance, and romcom, but I could handle it.

Now that I've succeeded in the political satire arena, I'm pretty much scared of nothing.

Except maybe romance.

Honestly, I think I'd just like to try something I haven't gotten yet...

 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Although I had good response to my political satire in R1, I'd rather not do it still. I like historical fiction, but having seen how the item prompt can throttle that, I'm iffy on that one now too.

I'd love to have fairy tale, horror, ghost story, or fantasy the most.

I did a crime caper in challenge one and thriller in challenge two... I was pretty insecure about the use of genre in my second story, but the judges actually commented on it being an effective element of the story!

I get the most nervous about genres that are designed to elicit a specific emotion (horror, thriller, comedy) because the reactions are so unpredictable. I'd love to get sci-fi, historical fiction, or drama. Smile

I'm terrified of getting political satire and only slightly worried about crime caper or mystery. I'm just not sure that I could come up with something with only 1000 words.

I would like a genre I have not done. Granted, this is my first year, so I've done two, Fairy Tale and Ghost Story, but I entered this competition to challenge myself.

Just anything other than romance please. I got it for the short screenplay challenge and did ok I think but it goes against the grain of my personality.

Dreading comedy or romance, or (God forbid) a combination of the two. I'm just a kid, so I really know nothing about falling in love and all those dynamics, lol. Political satire, historical fiction, and fairy tale would be hard, but doable...I think. Especially considering my pol sat story from round 1 scored better than expected.

I’d love horror again (my favourite genre), but otherwise would like to try anything different. Having said that I am a bit worried about polsat, because I’d rather write about my own country’s politics (which is a goldmine for satire), but I don’t know how non-American polsat would be received by the judges.
