In regards to genre, do you consider Alternative History and Steamboat Punk part of the
Science Fiction genre?

Sorry for the delay responding! Established subgenres are acceptable, as long as your story still contains predominant elements of the Science Fiction genre such as futuristic technologies, outer space, alternative visions of earth and society, etc. Steamboat Punk should be fine since it regularly includes technology references. With Alternative History, you just want to make sure that it can be recognized as a Science Fiction story and not just Historical Fiction.
