I'm already on my 3rd draft... the only problem is, I have to now transfer it from my head to paper.

I don't really "have a way with words".

It's all images, and to wring the words from them is very tough... but I am happy with the storyline, at least.

Let's see what kind of mess I can make on paper.

We have comedy/weightlifting.  Haven't started drafting yet, but once we settled on an idea we both liked, we spent Sat. afternoon and most of yesterday plotting the story and develop the characters a bit.  We'll draft today and tomorrow, and hopefully be into polishing by Weds.  We'll see how it goes.  Last year we had our first draft done by Monday night -- I don't think that'll be happening this year.

So far my laptop died thanks to a virus acquired through a false myspace friend request ...

Spent yesterday shopping for a new one but didn't actually make a purchase. $2,000 is a lot to spend without doing proper research just for a $40 contest.

I do have a couple ideas perculating, but neither is grabbing me. Last year it took me 4 days to come up with my plot so I'm not worried.

Ask me Thursady. I might be worried then.

I virtually always delete myspace friend requests unless I immediately know the person, but I've been getting a bunch of requests lately from folks on a messageboard I frequent so I followed the link thinking it was one of them.

Alas, it was not. Unless one of them hates me!

Horror - Gambling is what they gave me.

Lot's of ideas, three in particular that I'm keying in on.  I mean, I can write all three.

And that's the problem.  I have to choose one.

And that's always been my problem with things like this.

does anyone ever think that their ideas may not be original enough.  Like say this gambling/horror...what if like 50% deal with cards and death...i bet the judges get tired of reading...

Yeah, I was afraid of that also.

Two of my ideas are generally like that.

But one of them (which I think I'm going to focus on now) isn't like that at all, really.

That stated, if anyone with the same genre-topic combo writes about dogs playing poker with Death, post it whether it passes or not.

Seriously, dogs playing poker with Death?

That's got Hollywood written all over it!

I got my money on the dogs.  Dogs are sneaky like that.
