SF / putting up a tent / being. Already have a few ideas but always a challenge with a genre that requires a bit of world building in 100 words. Time to see if my scribbles turn into a story or a mess. But first tea!

Group 8 | Fairy Tale/Fantasy | Popping a bubble | Bitter

Hooo boy, did I have to crank this one out fast!!!
Got an 8 AM flight to catch to Mexico tomorrow for the start of a week long vacation, so I didn't get to craft this one with as much time or care as I would've liked!
I'll probably have some regrets after sleeping on what I wrote, but heyyyyy, what can ya do?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This writing competition sure knows how to keep a person humble…I was on cloud 9 with my first time EVER placing second for the first round and of course the universe had to make sure that feeling was short lived by giving me one of my most hated genre - Fairy Tale/Fantasy! ShockedShockedShocked Perhaps hate is too strong a word…It’s just not a genre I ever choose to read, watch or write on my own. Ah well, I guess that’s where the challenge comes in lol.

Group: 8
Genre: Fairy Tale/Fantasy
Action: popping a bubble
Word: bitter

But you sound more excited about ghost story than I am. Feel like I've had it a few times, but it might just be twice..

I'm super thrilled! This feels like a lot of room to explore... Side note: Did anyone else not receive an e-mail, and come to the site for the assignments listing?

Two group mates already!! Hello!

@FireHorse was that for flash? I think I remember that! Ghost story wouldn't be my first choice either, but it beats getting something from the suspense/thriller/horror trio for the thousandth time haha. And hey, at least you don't have to squish an antler into this one!

G21 / Suspense + Thriller / Hunt

I have some ideas rolling around. I feel the pressure in this round since I only placed 11th last time. Good luck everyone!

Oh hey there, another friend from group 8! Not too often you find someone in the forums who hates the fantasy genre, that's usually reserved for political satire in the Flash contest 😂
But it's like you said- writing for a genre you're not super inclined towards makes for a great challenge, and a great challenge in turn leads to a truly excellent story! I'm very much looking forward to checking yours out once we can start sharing 😊

So I'm from Australia, been to the snow once, certainly never ice-fishing... this'll be a comedy either way!
