I had been planning on getting two others to help with the 250-word contest master List coming up next month, but as I was emailing with Charlie, and we were discussing how large these contest were getting, he said he would to try an in house Master List for the 250. We had talked about it a couple of years ago, but it was left there as neither of us had any good ideas of how to go about it. I would guess he has been thinking about over time and has a plan! He said he will try and have a working model a week or two before the start of the contest so that everyone can have a look and maybe offer suggestions. I think the 250 is a good one to start with as it has the story right in the post rather than an off site link. I sort of feel like it is the end of an era, I have liked doing the lists, though they have really grown the last couple of years, The last Short Story was when I decided I would get help from then on - 218 heats. The most I had done before was I think 130 and that was a monster when you wake up to 50 pages of requests to be added - on hearing about the 218 heats I had started mumbling about the 218 and then my mouth would fall open, literally, lol, and I asked for help from other maintainers, and they obliged, thank their pointy little heads. Anyway, there it is, history in the making! Looking forward to see What Charlie has up his sleeve.

Sounds like a great idea! My first competition was last years 250 and I’m so thankful for all the work you do! I can’t imagine how much it adds to your plate but having no idea who runs NYC midnight lol I feel like you and a few other “veterans” are the virtual face of the competitions! I always look forward to reading your work. I’ll be happy to give some feedback when a test comes out but I’m sure it’ll be great!

Thanks to you and the others for all your work over the years, Suave! It's been a great part of the contest. Cool that they are working on something centrally.

Not really. I emailed him a week ago and asked if I should prepare to set up for the list, but he said no. I did not press him for a demo. So, I guess we will see when he posts it.
