If the action is implied (like a girl coming in from scraping her knee) but the reader doesn’t see it happen, does it count?

For example:

Does “she came inside crying with a skinned knee” satisfy the requirement for “injuring a knee”?

Yes, the action can be implied, as long as it's clear to the reader that the particular action is happening within the story.  In this example, it should be acceptable since it's obvious to the reader that the girl injured her knee within the story.  We hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else.  Good luck!
