Anyone else interested in practicing by writing & posting some stories based on the assignments of groups other than their own, just for fun while we wait for R1 results?

I'm in G34, but I recently wrote stories for two different groups after seeing their assignments (mostly to practice with the unfamiliar genre).

I'm interested, this sounds like fun! I'm only briefly procrastinating from work at moment, but will have a read of yours and add in my own very soon :)

Would anyone have a handy list of all the prompts in one place?

I'm like 'They got 'grooming a horse?' But I haven't tried writing it yet!

This is amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing. I was planning to go through and grab the prompts, so I'm happy I stopped here first. You saved me so much time!

Glad it came in handy, thankyou!

Here's my attempt at what may or may not count as a Romantic Comedy:

85 - Romantic Comedy / Crumpling up paper / Steady

Dymo Love

It was his own fault, really. He'd thought the label-maker would be fun - she loved categorisation. Hands unsteady, he’d embossed his love into every ‘click’.

If only he hadn’t lost his place. Distracted by her enquiring smile, he’d missed a letter.

They had their labels now alright - her a jilter, him a hot mess. A crumpled page of unspoken vows discovered outside the church. Now, he stared blurrily at the faded black tape stuck on the fridge, raised letters still visible in bone-white.

"WILL YOU MARR ME?"

And her response aligned neatly below, "OF COURSE."

Oh, good for you! "Romantic comedy" is a genre that scares me. I need to practice with it...I don't even like to watch romcom movies...so this should be interesting.

I like the idea behind this one you did, but I'm not sure if it's romcom or dark comedy?! I need to read up on romcom conventions...In my head it's more a comedy of errors that comes together for the protag in the end...but I'm not basing that on anything except film-watching I've been forced to do. ;)

Thanks for reading! You're probably right - the NYCM genre description says romcom is typically light and funny, and I think I would expect it to have a happy ending. Still if this comes across as any type of comedy I'm happy LOL
