Oh well, I did work really hard on this and it seems like a waste to not share it. I'm not sure what happened but it simply refused to accept my upload.
Anyone interested in reading a story about a train station, a dartboard and an albeit not so suspenseful ending? |

Send it to them by email asap! and include the explanation how/why it didn't work. It's better than not trying!! You have nothing to lose trying that last avenue. :)

I'd still try to submit it anyway. If they reject you, you can still participate in having it reviewed in the forums. You need to wait 2-3 days for that, then follow the instructions on the board. Edited by Zounds - 13 Jul 2020 at 12:34am |

Yep, and even though they might still DQ you for late submission (but let's hope not), you will still get judge feedback. (Although I agree that Forum's feedback is way better.)

Thank you, I did exactly that. I'm pretty certain that this laptop just decided it was done with me today, pretty certain my lame internet connection in the woods is also partly to blame

For future reference, one thing I've learned doing is that as soon as I have a readable version within the word count, I clean up all typos - er, try to - and submit a safety copy. Sometimes that happens late in the game (~3 hours before submission today, and it was basically the final version) but at a minimum it shields you from last minute glitches and you have something in.
You can then resubmit as many times as you want until the deadline, and they will consider the latest submission for judging. Good luck!

Seeing as they take the last upload you submit, I play it safe. I start with what I send out for beta, and then every rework after that - I am one of those that if there is a way for something to fail it most probably will. Better safe than sorry. |

Just to make sure I understand, if I submit now and then submit another version tomorrow, I don't need to take any other steps? They will only look at the last piece submitted, or do I have to somehow alert them to ignore the first submission?

They only look at the last version submitted, no need to do anything else :)
