My piece is so verbose and overanalyzed at this point I’m actually wondering if I’m trying too hard. DAE feel similarly?

I always feel that way. Then I start looking at words and questioning them. My advice is walk away for an hour, read it out loud and then decide if it flows and submit it.

Also - read it out loud. That helps me sometimes.
