Good Folks. The word I got from NYCm is that there is NOT going to be a fix for the character limit in posts until there is a forum upgrade and there is no timeline for that at this time. I know it is annoying and confusing to have the Master Lists broken into 6 pieces. It's a bit of a headache for Steph & I to have to man (& wo-man) three lists each as well. Next challenge would people prefer that the Master Lists linked out to a google doc? It would require an extra click to view/use the Master List, but everything else would remain the same - comment with your link to get added, etc. The doc would be read only - you'd be able to click the links to the stories but not add to it. (To avoid the too many cooks in the kitchen syndrome!) See example HERE! Drop a vote & your thoughts... just trying to figure out how to make this easier on folks within the constraints of an older platform! ~Chilly Edited by ChillyToez - 05 Aug 2019 at 12:49pm |

Not sure if my vote counts or not, haha! But I think it would be a fun experiment to use Google Docs for the next round. :)

I think it's a great idea. I honestly don't see any downsides.

I think this is good solution until the forum is upgraded.

I vote for whatever our list people want to do.
And in particular this solution looks good.

I don't think so. I do have a fix for the problem without doing that. Once you reach a certain number of replies in each section(just pic a random number) you need to make a new listing by just copy and pasting the main body of the list and then un sticky the first one and sticky the new one. This will take care of the problems by removing all those replies. I know the copy and pasting of the whole main part of the lists works fine as I had to do it so many times, haha. With this method you will not need 6 sections you could easily do 3 or even two with the size of this current contest. Edited by Suave - 06 Aug 2019 at 5:29am |

Another way to get around the problem: Have a master list where people do not leave any replies with a separate post for all their requests for getting listed. I am not a fan of having the list off site. |
