I think scifi is an easy way to get were it is not easy to go.  I used it in the short story contest, round one, crime caper.

Nooo. I find Sci-Fi so hard to write. Being clever? What's that?

Hist fic is always a good sub-genre for me. For some reason I feel like it makes things more dramatic, more romantic, more terrifying, etc. Didn't go with it this round, but usually I take a moment to consider the historical fiction angle of a prompt.

I should have said one 'other' scifi as I've put one in there...

... and never in a million years would I consider a historical fiction angle.  I always try and find the humour though (not always successfully)

I've gotten fantasy, romcom, ghost story, drama, suspense and this time action/adventure but no sci-fi : (. Since I've been wanting to get sci-fi for so long, I thought I would just go for it.

I saw so many heats' prompts as being an invitation to write an episode of Star Wars (including my heat's ghost story / hitchhiking / toothless man, if you mix hitch-hiker's guide with Alec McGuinness...), that I avoided sci-fi. Though I'm not sure I could tell you what genre I did go with in the end.. tutti frutti?
