Hehehe - can I join the Group 18 Yorkshire club, by proxy? There's a Keighley Gala Centenary plate displayed proudly on my fireplace. Not actually mine, but it is the other half's, so...

Loving the wildly different takes on the prompts - I'll post mine in a mo.

That totally counts, welcome to the club! Big smile And your synopsis looks like it's got a North/South theme, very intrigued!

Hurrah! Heading North next month actually.
When I first arrived in the UK, I made Matt's uncle pull on to the verge of the M1, just so I could take a picture of  the THE NORTH sign.
I bet he thought I was nuts.

The story has a North/South element for sure, but even more North Smile. Happy to say my Texan mate found common ground with the plot, so here's to the judges not being alienated too much by the heavy UK references!

Group 9
Comedy/Saxophonist/Enemies

Live Sax

Kurtis Fletcher allows an adolescent watershed moment to negatively define his future. Kurtis struggles for decades until one day his past and present collide at the bar on 5th and he has to decide whether to stay in the past or to give himself permission to embrace his own happy ending.

My family said there were a few snickery bits in the story, but overall no overt laughter. I'm not particularly happy with the synopsis but it's in now so no take-backs :)  My first draft somehow took on a life of its own and morphed into a weird instrumental soft-porn... needless to say, a lot of rewrites were required.  Looking forward to reading both your stories if you post. Hopefully, more niners post as well.

His business is tanking, his mix mojo is off, and he’s falling for his partner’s girlfriend – but Chris is about to discover a surprise or two brewing down at the Pirate Dog.

I love the name "Pirate Dog"! This sounds good! I liked my own prompt, but this one has me thinking. I might just write one of my own off this. 😁

Go for it AngofWords!!  :)  Mine ended up being a story with snark instead of a full out RomCom - probably because I spent too much time naming the brewery and fussing over labelsLOL

Heat 29: Spy, Disorganised, A Computer Programmer

It’s not a Bug. It’s a Feature.

An undercover programmer must search for a deadly computer virus at a puzzling company in South London, but finds himself hindered by a messy web of incompetence.

Not my best synopsis, but was wary of giving too much away! Shocked

Hello fellow heat mate! I Love your title. I’m a game dev so this had me cracking up. Good luck and I can’t wait to read your story.

Thanks! It's nice to have heatmates around this time, there were only two stories submitted from my group last round! Shocked Nice to see that people seem to have went different directions with it too!

I still think it should have been "Disorganisation" not "Disorganised" but that's me being nitpicky :p
