Did a quick look at the numbers this morning.
In group 23 there are 25 people.

Scores from last round are heavily skewed:
7 First Place
7 Second Place
3 Third Place
4 Fourth Place
4 Fifth Place

Also, she who beat me out for first place last round is in my group again. (Hiyas khodina!)
Gonna be a tough group.

Interestingly, it 80% female. (Making really wide sweeping assumptions based on names.) I wonder how that represents over the whole competition....

Anywho, I'm really just wasting time before a 9AM meeting. Then I'm going to close my office door and pretend to be working. LOL

My heat is apparently a cypher.  Nobody has admitted being in it, and I don't recognize any names.  Then again, I know very few people's real names.  Two Brits, an Aussie, one Irishperson, and someone who lives within a hundred miles of me.

My office door is closed, my Bose headsets are protecting me from the world, and I'm here goofing off rather than pounding out ideas in Word.  Ok, I'm also pounding out ideas in Word.

Time for more tea.

I've seen two people from my heat. One of them didn't post their round 1 story, so i don't know how they placed, and the other is a 1st placer like me.

I also don't know real names compared to screen names, so I have no idea if I've read their first round stories or not.

I seem to have about 1/3 men 2/3 women, but that's also going by names. I think that ration is probably representative of the entrant's ratio, but I have no data to make that claim legitimately

In other news, I'm 900 words into my first draft, but it's about to be 1am here, so I need to stop soon.

Well, welcome to the club!  There's only room for three more now!

Go kick some hysterically fictional butt, Sir Lipto!

I'd never thought about how much info could be gleaned from those spreadsheets! In a masterful display of procrastination, I decided to look at Heat 24.

25 people

5 1st place
4 2nd place
4 3rd place
4 4th place
8 5th place

13 male, 12 female, I think.

And only five of us posted our first round stories in the forums.

This is so fascinating! I never thought to do this before but thank you for the inspiration and the excuse to procrastinate.

Guessing on the sex of a few names but I have roughly 8 men and 17 women.
5 first place
6 second place
3 third place
5 fourth place
6 fifth place

No one who won from my previous heat is with me this time.

Trying to distract me?  Well, it will work...

1st: 4 (Comedy, Drama, PolSat, Romance)
2nd: 4 (A/A, Crime Caper, Ghost, Thriller)
3rd: 5 (Comedy x4, Romance)
4th: 4 (A/A, Fairy Tale, Romance, RomCom)
5th: 8 (A/A, Crime Caper, Drama, Fairy Tale x2, Romance, RomCom x2)

I made some guesses based on first name and came up with 13 women and 12 men.  That could easily be off by a couple.

Dammit I’m going to have to do this for my group tomorrow when I should be writing. I don’t recognise the names of anyone in my group (9) though.
