How many points did you need to advance to CH2 this year? It depends.  One writer with 27 total points didn’t make the cut. On the low end, two writers advanced with only 16 points. Writers with 15 or fewer points did not advance.

Chart Legend:
Pts
= cumulative total from both rounds.
In = writers advancing.
Out = writers with that total who did not advance.
Tie = writers who did not advance because of a tie-breaker.

I'm surprised I made the final cut with 18pts (scoring 13 this round). After scoring 5 in the first heat I had by and large written off writing this weekend...which would have been no bad thing, as it's actually my birthday tomorrow.

Oh well...no reason I cant write and celebrate.
Screenplay Challenge 2020 Finalist.
SSC 2014 Finalist.
FFC 2015 4th Placed Finalist.

I'm confused.. which group had writers with 27 or 26 points that didn't get through?!

Yeah...I can't find that either!! Looks like 22 is the highest score that didn't advance.

The highest possible score not advancing is 25, I think, a six-way tie where the 13-12 gets the bump.  I saw the 22 too (say that five times fast).

But you're talking theoretically... but in actual fact, no everyone with a score over 23 got through, right?  I think that data chart is wrong.  But I could be wrong.  Hmmm...

Yeah, the 25 is the worst-case scenario. Confused

I looked at my spreadsheet again: Group 23 had a three-way tie at 22 and one person got bumped by the tie-breaker rule. That was the highest non-advancing score this time.

I'm confused. I don't think it's possible for someone scoring 27 to NOT progress. The highest possible is 30, which means that person got top score both rounds leaving the next possible to 28....if you score 27..I am no mathematician, but you have to be in the top 4 surely???? I've looked through the results and there's no one on 27 who hasn't progressed. The lowest score to progress is 16.....highest lowest score is 22 I believe.....
It is still interesting and the luck of the draw though I guess. I was top of my group on 25. I would have been much lower in other groups, but there were 15 scores in my group as opposed to some that only had 4-15 demonstrating a high drop out rate.
